Not to be outdone, California's premier three-day 2008 Stagecoach Festival presenting the best in mainstream country, bluegrass, folk, roots rock and alt-country, arrives one week later.  This onefeatures 50+ artists including The Eagles, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, the Judds, Carrie Underwood, John Fogarty, and Big & Rich.Plus, a Half-Pint Hootenanny kids' activity area, BBQ Contest, live auction, hayrides & mechanical bull rides, saddle-making exhibitions, and many more seminars, demos, and clinics about our Western heritage and American folk art.

Indio is also host to many other food and cultural diversions including the obligatory regional cuisine tastings and an annual Indian Pow-Wow held by the Cabazon Band of Mission Indians – all which bring high-end culture, music, spots, and entertainment to residents and several hundred thousand vacationers and visitors to this superb natural setting.

Horsing Around

The equestrian lifestyle has resurrected itself among Indio's older private ranches and newer polo fields.  There are at least five polo clubs in a 10-mile radius from the city.  Thrill to the speed, power, and grace of international-level equestrian events and polo matches at the new HITS Desert Horse Park and the Empire and Eldorado Polo Clubs.  Pre-event tailgating has become a culinary art form worthy of the finest restaurants.  Indio rightfully claims itself also as the "Polo Capitol of the West".
